Quando queremos dizer que alguém chegou ou vai "chegar ao fundo do poço", em inglês, usamos a expressão "to hit rock bottom."
Por exemplo:

"Years ago, when I lost my job and my house, I felt I had hit rock bottom."
"She will only learn her lesson after she hits rock bottom."
"You shouldn't wait until you hit rock bottom to turn your life around."
